LCD HDTV Buy Now

I am thinking of buying a flat screen tv, but I am worried that after a couple of years the pixels will start to die. I know that there is a standard for dead & stuck pixels in manufacture of flat screens, but how long should a LCD screen last? How does this compare to a plasma screen?

The tv can support HDTV but when I put in a sd-card with an mkv file in it just says that there are no movie files to read in the sd card. What are the best audio settings you can get with a Sony LCD TV with its built-in speakers? Specifically, a Sony KDL-32L4000, it gave me sound modes; Dynamic, Standard, and Clear Voice but I can’t tell the difference and all I can adjust are the Treble and Bass. I can’t put a surround sound system because there’s not enough space for one. Any help?

The set is only a week old, it is connected ok, sometimes ITV1 and CH4 show “no signal” when viewed through Freeview, when I switch back to Analogue, they are on air. I live about 12 miles from the Oxford transmitter. Is this a common fault, if so who do I complain to?
